HTC is planning to launch its new tablet model next year.
The firm's aim is to stand out from the crowd by not making tablets simply for the sake of following trends, it was revealed.
The firm's tablet intentions for 2012 were reported by Reuters, which quoted Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, as saying: "Tablet is a market we would like to try and test, to see whether we can make ourselves stand out and prevent a me-too product."
The firm's first tablet, the HTC Flyer, which boasts the HTC Scribe stylus, was demonstrated at the Mobile World Congress 2011. However, the tablet failed to be as successful as the Apple iPad.
No new HTC tablets have been released since then.
US customers could buy the new 10in LTE HTC Jetstream. However, its launch was not announced for the Netherlands.
