Lenovo has announced that its newly introduced Thinkpad T420 laptop
Lenovo has announced that its newly introduced Thinkpad T420 laptop will boot up in less than 10 seconds with the help of its Enhanced Experience 2.0 (EE2).
The Rapidboot Extreme model, which will be available later in May, has proprietary BIOS and hardware optimisations along with the Intel X25-M Solid State Drive for super start-up capability.
A cleaner default software setup and optimised drivers help drive down boot time to sub-10 seconds.
Dilip Bhatia, VP of the Think Product Group at Lenovo, said: "Driving down boot time to sub-10 seconds on the ThinkPad T420s laptop results from applying precise, focused engineering to hardware and software interoperability."
With EE2, it will take 20 seconds on average to start a Lenovo PC, while it can be shut down 28% faster than a typical Windows 7 PC.
It will take less than a second to resume Windows, 36% faster than the average Windows 7 PC, according to Lenovo.
The firm's Ideapad Y570 laptop, which will be launched next month, will also boot up in less than 10 seconds.
