Samsung has pulled the wraps off its latest 22.6cm Galaxy Tab, featuring Google's Android 3.0 'Honeycomb' operating system.
The tablet computer is powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor, and comes in three capacities - 16GB, 32GB or 64GB.
It flaunts a 1280x800 resolution display, alongside front and rear-facing cameras.
In terms of connectivity, the device sports WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0. Other specifications include USB 2.0, gyroscope, accelerometer, digital compass, ambient light sensor and GPS.
The 8.9 model has emerged as one of the thinnest tablets in the world, measuring only 8.6mm in thickness and weighing just about 470g.
The company has also reduced the size of the 10.1 version, which now also sports a chassis just 8.6mm thin, weighing around 595g.
Samsung is yet to announce the UK launch date and pricing details regarding the latest products.
