Intel has launched its new second generation Intel Core vPro processor family for laptops and desktops, promising enhanced performance, security, as well as simplifying PC management.
The new Core vPro i5 processor promises up to two times faster multitasking performance and can increase the speed of business applications by 60%, when compared with a three-year-old Intel Core 2 Duo.
Data encryption can run up to four times faster on the latest processor.
Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 accelerates performance to match user workloads, the chipmaker said.
Intel business boss Rick Echevarria said: "Businesses face numerous challenges today, but also opportunities in the wealth of new technologies that are helping workers be more productive, businesses to be more creative and IT to be more innovative."
The company has also introduced its Anti Theft Technology version 3.0 on the new processor to provide stronger defence against the problem of laptop theft and data loss.
The new technology enables authorised users to "send a coded 'poison pill' over the Internet to completely disable a lost or stolen computer and help prevent access to its encrypted data and deter theft".
