Cisco has introduced a complete home-working system, OfficeExtend
Cisco has introduced a complete home-working system, which network administrators can use to provide corporate security on remote systems.
The OfficeExtend platform, scheduled to be launched in May this year, features a dual-band 802.11n router for teleworkers.
The new Cisco wireless access point also includes two network modules - a 500-user module and a smaller version for 50 to 500 users.
Ray Smets, vice president and general manager of the wireless networking business unit at Cisco, said: "The proliferation of smart mobile devices, the adoption of cloud services, and even government regulation are all changing the concept of the workplace, and many employees have the expectation and need to work from home.
"The Cisco OfficeExtend solution addresses the need for organisations to provide simple, highly secure wireless access to company resources for teleworkers at home or in the office."
The Aironet 600 Series Office Extend access point operates over two bands, allowing office data to transmit over a 5GHz channel and home data over a 2.4GHz band.
