Toshiba launches teaser for tablet

A teaser for Toshiba's upcoming Android Honeycomb-operated tablet has been launched

A teaser for Toshiba's upcoming Android Honeycomb-operated tablet has been launched on a new site in an effort to promote the successor of the troubled Folio 100.

Toshiba Tablet, the new site, provides detailed information surrounding the device that has not been named yet.

The device, which packs in a number of new features, made its worldwide debut at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011.

The tablet will come with a high definition (HD) screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and will also be able to output in full HD.

According to the company, the Resolution+ display technology will make standard definition (SD) video fit for the HD screen.

It will also be the first tablet to come with a user-removable battery that will allow owners to change or upgrade it when required.

Featuring the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core, Cortex A9-based processor to ensure the smooth running of the device, the tablet will also come with enhanced connectivity thanks to Wi-Fi, USB ports, and an SDslot.

Additionally, there will be a 5-megapixel auto focus-enabled camera without flash at the back, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, along with two SRS-certified speakers and a headphone jack.

The slip-resistant rear, called the EasyGrip, will keep the device from sliding off a person's hand and will be available in five colours.
