Google 'not happy' with app sales

Google is not satisfied with the sales of apps for the Android

In spite of Google's Android platform performing very well on the market and more devices based on the operating system scheduled to hit shelves this year, the company is not satisfied with the sales of apps for the Android.

During a conference in San Francisco, Eric Chu, the platform manager for Android, said that he is "not happy" with the sales of paid-for Android apps, adding that owners of the platform-based devices are not purchasing enough apps.

In a roadmap for Android in 2011, Mr Chu has outlined that the company will launch an Android in-app payment system during the first quarter in order to get even with the Apple iOS.

Furthermore, Google will make it simpler for users to search for the correct apps, which should in turn lead to an increase in sales.

Developers of apps have been called on to facilitate the sharing process for users through the Android address book which will store contacts from a person's email and social networking accounts.
