Hewlett-Packard's CEO Meg Whitman has revealed that in the next two weeks the fate of the webOS mobile operating will be revealed.
Ms Whitman told French newspaper Le Figaro in an interview that it is not an easy decision for the company.
"We should announce our decision in the next two weeks. This is not an easy decision, because we have a team of 600 people which is in limbo. We need to have another operating system," she said.
Over the last few weeks HP's webOS has been the subject of much speculation as the firm said it was dropping support for the devices running on the operating system.
Insisting that HP needs another operating system, Ms Whitman said in an internal meeting that the firm was still in a state of flux.
She also said that the firm didn't "know what kind of company HP [was]" and that it was still trying to figure that out.
