Seagate has unveiled its slimmest external hard drive
Seagate has unveiled its slimmest external hard drive, measuring 4.91x3.07x0.354in - roughly the width of a pencil.
The GoFlex Slim, which offers 320GB of storage space, is 38% thinner than its predecessor, while weighing about 160g.
The 7200RPM drive is equipped with a USB 3.0 port, and it is compatible with Mac or Windows PC. Users can conveniently carry the device in a pocket or bag, thanks to its ultra-thin size.
The Slim boasts the manufacturer's Dashboard management tool, which offers handy means to manage backups and file encryption, while it also allows users to view available drive capacity.
Formatted as a FAT32 file system, the ultra-portable drive includes an 46cm USB 3.0 cable and a three-year warranty.
According to Seagate, the GoFlex Slim could work as an accessory for thin notebooks or netbooks, which have less internal storage in comparison with mainstream mobile computers or desktop replacements.
