Samsung has released details of its latest tablet computer, the Galaxy Tab 2.
The new 7-inch tablet is the next generation device following the original Galaxy Tab that was launched in 2010. The upgraded Galaxy Tab 2 boasts a dual-core 1 GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. Measuring just 10.5mm thick, Samsung has worked hard to slim down the latest version of the Tab but it is still not quite as thin as the Galaxy Tab 7.7's.
The device comes complete with two cameras, a 3 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera that is ideal for video calling. The tablet will be the first Samsung device to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and includes access to a full range of apps for music, reading, games and video, including more than 1,000 movies which will be available for rent or purchase.
The Galaxy Tab 2 retains the same 7-inch screen as the original tab and operates the same 1024x600 pixel display, which is perfect for watching films and playing games on the move. Weighing in at just over 12oz the latest Samsung device is comfortable to hold and perfect for travel.
