Android Market Web Store launched

Google has unveiled its Android Market Web Store

Google has unveiled its Android Market Web Store, which will allow users to buy apps for their smartphones from a web browser.

The new development, which is now live after being launched at Google's Wednesday Honeycomb event, will let owners access market.android.com and look for apps that are available on the website.

The company has also announced that in-app purchasing for Android apps will be in place, as well as currency options for people developing the applications.

Currently the Android Web Store features some advertisements for apps, and some regular categories.

One simply has to click on the buy option to purchase an app, after which a window will pop up asking which device you want the app installed into.

Once the payment method is chosen, the Web Store will send the app to your Android device.

Chris Yerga, Android engineering director for cloud services at Google, said: "The Android Market Web Store is basically the new way that users can get apps on their devices.

"No wires, no synching with computers, none of that sort of nonsense. Everything just works seamlessly syncing between the two."
