Fans expecting iPad3 next week
Mysterious invitations from Apple sent out to journalists have sparked rumours that the iPad3 is going to be launched next week.
The invite asks them to a "special event" held on Wednesday 7 in York Place, London.
Also included is a photo of what looks like a touch screen but Apple has refused to make any confirmations about the launch.
The invite said: "We have something you really have to see. And touch."
Nate Lanxon, from technology site Wired, said the new model will: "Look a lot like the current model" but will have a better screen resolution.
Mr Lanxon said the new model would probably not be enough to get consumers to reach into their pockets, as people preferred to see what updates and apps are going to be released first.
"On day one there is less reason to invest in the iPad than three or four months down the line when the developers have got to grips with it and you can see what apps they have built for it" he added.
